It was like that when I got here. I swear.

First picture is Pixie (rucking up her beautiful fur after I just got done brushing it). The second is poor, mangled Yogi. You can kinda see the woolly undercoat. I'm sorry--I'm just fascinated (and okay, slightly horrified) by his shed this season.

As for news: I just got done cleaning up the ferret room. Yay. Apparently, Sian has started pooing through the bars of the cage, so I had to scrub the bottom of the stand. Funfunfun. And? Pixie got into something and has ANOTHER mat in her hair. I don't know what it is, since there's nothing gooey or sticky in that room, so I've been having to soften it up with witch hazel (to soothe the pulled skin) and a bit of vaseline and work it in so that I can clip it free.

They have also started stashing my newspaper that I use in their cage. For the past few weeks, I've been wondering why I'm speeding through my supply, and today? I found it, all nice and neat in their hidey-holes.

At least I [eventually] found it :)

  1. LOL! Maybe they are just trying to stay up with current events!!

Yogi's shed is rather interesting. He has a very pretty coat. I like Pixie's picture. She looks like a piece o' work!!

It is so good to have you back!

  2. Brushing their hair is great but I often wonder why my gang don't have lush, full coats now that we're in autumn.

My first group of ferrets shed their coats like crazy - seriously! You could pull fistfuls of hair out but over the years, it hasn't happened to my other ones.

My albino boy, Angus, should have a fabulous full coat of hair but instead he has a rat's tail (almost, not quite) and looks quite skinny. Hmmm, should I be worried? I hope not!

Anyway, nuff said about my lot - hugs to your terrible trio from their pals down under :)
